Sales Associate

We have manufactured organic landscaping supplies and materials for over 30 years and due to our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Sales Associate to join our team! Job Description
As a Sales Associate you will be interacting with landscapers and gardeners daily, ringing up basic transactions using our Point-of-Sales system, inspecting incoming feedstocks, setting up deliveries for customers, and assisting customers in selecting which materials work best for their projects.
Responsibilities and Duties

Open and close cash registers at start of shift and end of shift.

Ring up customer transactions using our Point-of-Sales (POS) system.

Provide friendly and efficient customer service to patrons.

Provide knowledgeable recommendations to assist customers with purchasing materials, services, and organic solutions.

Answer incoming calls to assist customers in setting up new accounts, provide quotes, take orders, prepare invoices, receive payments, and schedule deliveries.

Work with operations/production team to set up bulk orders for retail and wholesale customers.

Calculate, charge and direct natural green waste drop-off customers to correct location.

Inspect loads for unacceptable materials and contaminants.

Escort customers to look at different products on premises.

Communicate with operations team via radio to notify of incoming customer loads and pick-ups for bagged products.

Maintain cleanliness (Dust, sweep, mop, and empty trash) of Sales Office and surrounding areas.

Research customer inquiries and escalate any issues or complaints to Sales Manager for guidance or resolution.

Restock products and supplies in the Sales Office (able to lift 40 lbs.).

Report low inventory levels to Sales Manager.

Respond to customer inquiries via email and follow up phone calls.

Coordinate customer deliveries using various trucking companies.

Other duties that may arise.
Education Requirements

High School education or equivalent.
-
Basic horticultural knowledge on soils, compost, mulch, fertilizers, and organic solutions.
Skills and Experience
-
Use of previous Point-of-Sales (POS) system.

Organized and attentive to detail.

Data entry and general math skills.
-
Work in an all-weather environment.

Prior horticultural experience (preferred).

Bi-lingual (preferred).
