Responsibilities:
- Understands company product codes and part numbers.
- Uses power tools, drill presses, etc...
- Discerns and follows the company's casting finish requirements using grinding and bondo as needed.
- Uses and reads tape measures and simple dimensional drawings.
- Understands how parts go together and how to assemble them for paint.
- Understands all company part and model numbers and how they get assembled to meet our specs of an outdoor product.
- Understands and avoids potential issues that will result in field problems when assembly occurs.
- Utilizes TIG and MIG welding operations and meets all strength and weld bead appearance criteria.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment using 5S guidelines.
- Ensures all material needed to complete the job is provided.
- Verifies poles and fitters are straight and level and are the correct height before welding them.
- Verifies that all add ons (PMs, ballast beackets, GFIs) are in the proper orientation.
- Verifies that the finished product will match the Sternberg traveler and drawing supplied.
- Ensures anchor bolt orientation and size meet requirements.
- Uses and reads tape measures and dimensional drawings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- 5 years of experience in structural steel welding.
- Must have a CWB certification
