Assistant Property Manager
Job Overview
Property Manager assists the Senior Property Manage in the daily operations of properties, advertise vacant properties, leasing, and handle tenant relations. Property Manager assists the Senior Property Manager to increase property value and satisfy tenant requirements.
Property Manager aims to minimize costs while keeping tenants satisfied. They are tasked with addressing tenant concerns, collecting rent, leasing vacancies, and dealing with maintenance.
Property Manager is customer service oriented, has great interpersonal skills, and is extremely organized. The ideal candidate should have experience in property management and be able to handle a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
Property Manager Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Property Manager in managing the property in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Respond to tenant inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure that all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Assist in preparing and managing the property's budget, including rent collection and expenses
- Assist in conducting move-in and move-out inspections and prepare necessary documentation
- Attract new tenants through advertising, property viewings, and encouraging referrals
- Interview tenants and run prospect/applicant screening
- Negotiate and enforce lease agreements
- Establish and maintain relationships with tenants
- Prepare lease agreements and renewals
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the property
- Maintain records of income, expenses, signed leases, complaints, maintenance, etc.
- Pay invoices
- Prepare and maintain all records, correspondence, and files
Property Manager Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Experience as a Leasing Agent, Assistant Property Manager or similar role
- Working knowledge of DC property laws and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Yardi Breeze, Box and other property management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,535.00 - $77,939.00 per year
