OVERVIEW OF POSITION
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for assisting the National Team with complying with all federal, state, and local laws and requirements. The HR Coordinator will assist with ensuring that all human resource processes are carried out in a timely manner to ensure compliance. This role plays a key role in the organization’s human capital management strategy by supporting the human resource functions, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, training and development, and record keeping. The position will be based in the Washington, DC, office and will report to the Director of Human Resources
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid-2 days a week)
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism regarding all HR-related matters
- Support the recruitment process by posting jobs, scheduling phone screens, and coordinating interviews
- Conduct new employee orientation and onboarding
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with legal requirements and organization policies.
- Responsible for creating new hire and termination employee files, to include I-9 records management
- Coordinate training sessions and seminars for staff
- Support HR projects and cross-functional team initiatives
- Foster positive employee relationships and provide exceptional customer service, guidance, and support to all staff
- Stay abreast of and comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Prepares quarterly ECC newsletter using employee relations updates such as birthday and milestone anniversaries, new employee announcement, department/regional accomplishments, and other articles as requested
- Maintain timekeeping system with accurate project codes
- Support compliance requirements and audits
- Perform other related duties as requested by the Director of HR & CFAO
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
- Strong commitment to advancing racial, gender and social equity
- Must have strong Microsoft Office and Google Suite computer skills
Desired Experience and Attributes:
- Experience with accounting software QuickBooks Online
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and proof-reading
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and sensitivity
- Able to effectively prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks
