Summary:
As the Lead Budtender, you will oversee all aspects of our cannabis retail store operations, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our customers while upholding company standards and values. Your role involves leading the sales floor, supervising budtenders, managing daily tasks, and providing exceptional customer service. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining inventory integrity, executing sales strategies, and fostering a welcoming environment for our clientele.
Responsibilities:
Salesfloor Leadership and Operations Management:
- Lead and supervise budtenders, guiding daily tasks and maintaining operational efficiency.
- Open and close the store meticulously, conducting cash counts and ensuring register banks are accurate.
- Delegate inventory restocking duties, monitor stock levels, and ensure the sales floor is adequately replenished.
- Monitor break schedules for staff and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Handle returns efficiently, ensuring defective items are properly handled and removed from the sales floor.
- Conduct closing procedures, including reconciling registers and verifying completion of cleaning duties.
Customer Engagement and Sales Excellence:
- Greet and establish rapport with guests, understanding their needs and preferences.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, providing knowledgeable recommendations based on their preferences.
- Lead by example in exceeding personal sales goals and support sales associates in achieving theirs.
- Drive a "Guest Centric" culture, enhancing customer engagement through sales training and product knowledge.
Team Development:
- Provide leadership and support to team members, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
- Execute a hospitality program to drive repeat business, leveraging networking and loyalty initiatives.
- Assist store leaders in executing business initiatives effectively and efficiently.
Operational Excellence and Compliance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, restocking merchandise, and participating in store clean-up.
- Perform clerical tasks, including accurate inventory management and record-keeping.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies, including proper documentation and ID verification for customers.
Communication and Reporting:
- Provide timely updates to management on shift activities, including vendor visits, customer feedback, and operational issues.
- Confirm starting and ending cash counts, reconcile registers, and report any discrepancies promptly.
There are a few skills you should have from the get go:
- Minimum of one year of lead postion experience or equivalent experience.
- Education -high school diploma/GED required. College degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Prior cannabis retail experience is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
- Manage conflict and lead and hold others accountable
- Relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization
- Welcoming and helpful attitude and able to demonstrate a passion for customer service.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Interpret instructions, reports and information.
- Accurately handle cash register operations.
- Ability to lift 25+lbs
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends with a minimum of 45-50 hours of availability per week.
