We are a busy and established billing company with a full-time position in the medical billing and collections office. We are seeking a collections specialist that has 2+ years’ experience in No-Fault, WC, NY & NJ PIP claims. Candidate must have extensive knowledge working with verification request responses, appeals, and follow ups. Candidate MUST have knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 codes.
Qualifications:
- Must have an understanding of how insurance carriers work, and ability to perform various billing and collections functions
· Provide accurate and complete information grounded on claim procedures and regulatory time frames
· Communicate proper responses to insurance carriers regarding prior authorizations, denials, revisions and other issues as they arise
· Follow-up on denials, incorrect or underpayments and past due receivables in a timely manner. Send files for reconsideration as needed
· Directing notes that need to be completed, adjusted, and/or corrected to Manager for revision
· Experience in No Fault arbitration/litigation required. Prepare and track arbitration/litigation accounts as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:
· 2+ years of experience handling NY-No Fault, NJ PIP, Workers Compensation, Private health insurance claims
· Clear understanding of EOB’s, CPT’s and ICD codes
· Possess strong knowledge of Worker’s Compensation Forms and Guidelines (C-4’s and MG-2’s)
· Extensive knowledge in Worker’s Compensation Appeal Board process
· Knowledge of Commercial/PPO insurances
· Knowledge of legal pleadings
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
