Position Summary:
As an accountant you will manage financial transactions, from fixed payments to bank deposits. Your responsibilities include auditing financial documents, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns. We're seeking someone with bookkeeping experience and a keen eye for numerical accuracy.
The Staff Accountant will perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, prepare accounting statements and financial reports.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and helps close the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least weekly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
- Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.
- Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications Essential Abilities:
- Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise & NetSuite preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience managing AP/AR.
- Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- 2+ years of data entry/accounting experience.
- Display courteous, customer service focus, and professional attitude
- Interact ethically with fellow employees and customers
- Possess valid and current driver’s license
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Education and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related business major preferred
