Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth through identifying new business opportunities and building strong relationships with clients. We are looking for someone to play a vital role in establishing relationships with property managers, contractors, homebuilders, and other businesses. The primary responsibility will be to identify potential customers, engage with them both in person and over the phone, and effectively communicate the value of our products and services. This is an important position that will report directly to the CEO.
Opportunity for Growth:
This role offers the opportunity for significant and near term advancement. You will be starting a business development team from the ground up. As you succeed in the role, we will hire Business Development Representatives who will report to you. It is critical that you successfully learn the job so you can mentor future direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and identify potential customers within the target market, including property managers, contractors, homebuilders, and other businesses.
- Build lead lists with contact information.
- Conduct in-person meetings, phone calls, and email communications to engage with prospective customers and nurture relationships.
- Update and maintain information in our CRM.
- Prepare sales presentations before pitching decision makers.
- Understand the unique needs and requirements of each customer and effectively communicate how our products and services can address their challenges.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination in delivering solutions to customers.
- Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new business opportunities.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Driver’s license & clean driving record
- 5+ years of outside sales or business development experience, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience working with contractors, home builders, and property managers is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers in-person, over the phone, and via email.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Must be highly organized and should keep track of all customer interactions.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and CRMs. Understanding Salesforce is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including trips to Denver and Tucson.
