About the Position
The Tax Director is responsible for leading and executing the tax compliance activities of Triple-S Steel Holdings and its affiliated companies. The Tax Director will provide recommendations to the CFO, President and CEO with regards to various tax strategies incorporating state and federal income tax, property tax, sales & use tax and excise taxes.

Responsibilities:
Tax Strategy
- Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with the organization’s overall business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for tax optimization
- Remain current on changes to tax laws and related regulations to achieve tax compliance.
- Plan for and develop overall tax calendar for organizational purposes.
- Advise on Intercompany Financing Structure and optimal activities to take advantage of US tax benefits.
Tax Reporting and Financial Analysis
- Oversee and manage the preparation and review of company annual federal, state, and local tax returns that are prepared by external outsourced partner.
- Prepare estimates for Federal, State and local taxes.
- Prepare/coordinate the Yearly, Quarterly and monthly filings for Sales and Use tax returns.
- Prepare/coordinate the Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly filings of tangible and intangible property returns.
- Ensure the accurate, timely filing of all other tax forms (property tax where applicable and other taxes as required).
- Manage outsource tax partners to ensure all deadlines including annual reporting are met.
- Coordinate, review and maintain Transfer Pricing report and policies in utilizing external provider.
- Organizing and reviewing tax provisions / estimated tax payments prepared by external providers.
- Assist compliance with withholding taxes, Form 1042’s and other tax requirements.
- Reconciling income tax accounts and ensuring the correct booking of tax payments, provisions, credits, etc. on the balance sheet and P&L
- Ensure that all tax reserves reported on balance sheet are proper and supportable.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and Mentor a team of tax professionals providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Provide training in tax compliance, tax regulations and other tax requirements as needed.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the tax department.
- Maintain a strong focus on cross functional teamwork with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure workload distribution and maximize productivity
Tax Risk Management
- Assist implementation of Sales Tax Reporting software in new ERP
- Evaluate tax implications related to acquisitions. Provide tax guidance and transaction structure and integration.
- Administering Tax Audits directly with Tax Authorities with or without external support (preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.).
General
- Enforce and abide the requirements of safe operation and personal safety using required Personal Protective Equipment and Safe Practices per company policy.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and Company policy at all times.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance; advanced degree in Taxation preferred
- CPA preferred but not required
- 10+ years of experience in a corporate or corporate consulting environment Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of US federal, state and local reporting and tax requirements in a holding company environment.
- Excellent tax accounting and analytical skills.
- Highly Functional in Office (Advanced Excel Skills a must).
- Proficiency in tax software, including Avalara sales tax software.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
