General Description of Position:
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) is the first point of contact for patients, responsible for ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. Key duties include greeting patients, handling check-ins and check-outs, managing insurance information, processing referrals, collecting copays, and maintaining accurate patient records. The PSR also assists with scheduling and coordinates with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:

Greet every patient with a warm and friendly smile.

Check patients in and out, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed.

Collect copays and ensure accurate handling of payments.
Administrative Duties:

Verify referrals are on file when required.
-
Build and manage insurance packages accurately.
-
Collect, organize, and process all charge tickets for each clinic.

Balance TOS money at the end of each day and submit it appropriately.
Record Management:

Provide patients with the necessary paperwork and assist with completion.

Add or update patient demographic information in the system.
-
Make Health Note calls for the next day and assist patients with the Health Note questionnaire.
Scheduling and Coordination:

Assist Clinic Assistants with scheduling return visits for patients.

Reschedule clinics as needed.

Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient status, including late arrivals, Health Note progress, and any issues that may delay the patient’s appointment.
Patient Financial Assistance:

Contact Financial Counselors for patients who are unable to pay their balances.

Provide information and support to patients regarding financial options and assistance.
General Responsibilities:

Maintain effective communication with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

Equivalent to a high school diploma or GED, with an emphasis on office skills or related areas.

0 to 6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mental alertness and adaptability to office routines and fieldwork.

Software Skills:

Basic proficiency in 10-Key, word processing, and typing.
