Position Summary:
The Fundraising Assistant will work directly with and in support of the Development and Marketing team to further promote the mission and vision of the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL). This role will manage, process, maintain, and acknowledge all ADL donations from various platforms, and the donor and sponsor database. Work hours are typically Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
· Processes and acknowledges all ADL monetary, in-kind donations, and sponsorships
· Generates internal and external funding related reports
· Monitors bank, website, event, employee giving, offsite, etc. donations
· Creates database batches for all processed checks, donation receipts, and online donations
· Regularly imports donations into donor and sponsor database
· Maintains and updates database records, donor information, and manages/updates mailing/distribution lists
· Generates donor acknowledgement letters for Chief Development Officer to sign and prepare for mailing
· Processes “in memory” and “in honor” tributes and creates acknowledgment cards
· Organizes physical and electronic files and documentation
· Manages grant report due dates and calendar
· Ensures accurate and complete data entry, as well as accurate spelling/grammar
· Assists with event support, including third-party event inquiries and calendar
· Other duties as assigned to support the needs of the organization
Qualifications:
· A minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office.
· The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication, is detail-oriented, proficient with MS Office, and practices discretion and rules of confidentiality.
· Must have donor database experience, the ability to organize and prioritize work, and work independently with little supervision.
· Ability to work in a team environment and interact with people in a variety of positions and levels, both internally and externally.
· Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
· Quickly learn new donor software and credit card processing software.
· The ability to work around cats and dogs.
Physical demands and working conditions:
Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds. Subject to climbing, kneeling, lifting, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are inside and outside with exposure to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, noise, dirty environment, confining workspace and unfavorable odors.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
