Summary of Position
The Utility Line Locator monitors and prioritizes incoming one call tickets on infrastructure throughout the Permian/Delaware Basin area. This individual utilizes technical skills and equipment to identify and report pipeline and utility underground infrastructure impacted by one call tickets or third-party crossings and observes excavations for the assigned area. Must be a self- motivated individual with a strong work ethic. This position reports to the Utility Line Locator Supervisor out of our Midland, Texas office.

Essential Job Requirements
- Responsible for the research, review, and analysis of Company records to identify and determine the location of marked, unmarked, or mismarked underground utilities.
- Operate locating equipment to locate and mark underground utilities within proposed accuracy limits.
- Responsible for the conduction of a physical surface survey anomaly recognition for assigned areas assessing survey markers, anomalies in the terrain, surface utility markers, vegetation, adjacent structures, and hazards.
- Conduct audits of assigned line finders to ensure operation and calibration requirements are met.
- Read and interpret utility plans, prints, and maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
- Provide accurate documentation and/or sketches related to located utilities including taking photos.
- Responsible for effectively communicating and coordinating daily tasks and project updates with the assigned supervisor and other team members.
- Knowledge and experience with utility line locating equipment (Radio Detection) preferred.
- Make educated decisions under pressure knowledgeably and confidently from time to time.
- Install or replace permanent or temporary pipeline markers.
- Monitor pipeline right of ways for marker replacement, potential leaks, and erosion.
- Responsible for the supervision of third-party excavation and trenching.
- Must hold a valid driver's license, be able to safely operate a Company-issued motor vehicle and be deemed insurable by the Company's insurance provider as a contingency of continued employment.
- Regular attendance, overtime, and weekend work hours may be necessary.
- Complies with all safety and Company policies and procedures.
- Abides by Company policy in accurate time tracking, and adheres to provided schedule, subject to change with business needs.
- Able to perform other assigned duties based on company needs.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Required Experience
- Experience as a Utility Line Locator preferred.
- Experience with state (Texas, New Mexico) damage prevention laws, requirements, and one-call processes preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with utility line locating equipment (Radio Detection) preferred.
Required Skills
- Intermediate competency in the use of Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Google Earth, ArcGIS, etc.
- Ability to quickly learn new online operating systems as needed and required to perform the tasks associated with the job.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must possess exceptional organizational skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.
- Must exhibit exceptional communication skills and be able to speak, read, and write in English in a professional manner. Bi-lingual is a plus.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and team oriented.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds (line locator) in awkward positions and can lift 75 pounds (box of flags) from floor to waist, occasionally.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and otherwise navigate uneven, rural terrain.
- May be exposed to loud noises, occupational hazards, and/or other outdoor elements.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
