Hourly rate from $15.96/hour up to $17.00/hour (depending on related experience)

Position Type: Full-time, 37.50 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 9a to 5p schedule.

The Billing Specialist reports directly to the Finance Director and is located in our office in Braddock, PA and is responsible for:
- Check daily schedules to verify insurance eligibility through Promise, and insurance websites to verify that all services are authorized, and request authorizations, if needed.
- Ensure that all authorizations for services rendered are entered into the EHR.(Qualifacts) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow up on consumer events that have not billed, or are unauthorized, in an effort to obtain authorizations, or to verify eligibility.
- Send to Allegheny County and track fiscal abatements.
- Revise and update guidelines and processes related to the liability and co-pay process.
- Complete the credentialing process for Therapists and Doctors.
- May need to work at an outpatient site to ensure smooth operation.
- Ability to learn and adapt to change.
- Accuracy in recording all transactions.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication with managers and the Fiscal Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Graduate and three (3) years of medical office experience.
- Experience with medical authorization procedures, credentialing required.
- Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills required.
