Position Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Custom Paint Technician to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mixing paints and operating paint mixing machines and shakers. This role is crucial in ensuring that our custom paint orders are fulfilled with precision and consistency, maintaining the high standards our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Mixing Paints: Accurately mix paints according to specified formulas and customer orders, ensuring consistency in color and texture.
- Operating Equipment: Proficiently operate paint mixing machines and shakers, ensuring safe and efficient use of equipment.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on mixed paint batches to ensure they meet company standards and customer specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of paint batches, including formulas, quantities, and any adjustments made during the mixing process.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Packing and prepping LTL orders: Most orders ship out of state. Collaborate with the workshop team to pack and prepare Less Than Truckload (LTL) orders, ensuring they are securely packaged and labeled correctly for shipping.
- Clean store equipment
- Load/unload delivery trucks
- Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Comply with inventory control procedure
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in paint mixing, preferably in a high-end or specialty paint company.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating paint mixing machines and shakers. Familiarity with natural paints and plaster colors is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong eye for color and detail, with the ability to precisely follow mixing formulas and instructions.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and handle heavy containers of paint and raw materials.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document processes and interact professionally with customers and team members.
