Position Summary: Provides overall technical direction and administration to inpatient rehab program personnel, ensures services are provided efficiently and effectively. Regularly reviews and revises rehab program standards and ensures procedures performed comply with all hospital, system, and regulatory agency standards. Coordinates provision of inpatient rehab services with other medical functions and serves as a rehabilitation expert. Responsible for program development, growth, and oversight including rehab operations, rehabilitation regulations, medical directorship, and program compliance with CMS guidelines. Inpatient rehab program includes patient care and all operations by the rehabilitation team including nursing, therapy, professional clinical staff, patient liaisons, and medical director.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates understanding and competence in all areas of Evidence-Based Leadership including: leader rounding, thank you notes, stoplight reports, 30/90 day conversations, leadership development institutes, linkage grids, skills validation, AIDET, and High-Middle-Low conversations.
- Maintains the operational responsibility for all disciplines and healthcare services in the rehab program.
- Oversight for the rehab specific regulations including admissions criteria, CMS guidelines, other insurance requirements and reimbursement. Ensures that all Rehab services activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, laws, accrediting bodies and insurance regulations. Assists with ensuring quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
- Develops rehab program policies and procedures necessary to achieve the program’s goals and objectives. Recommends policies and procedures and, when necessary, secures the approval from appropriate administrative and medical staff committees.
- Ensures rehab program meets accreditation standards for The Joint Commission and CARF (if indicated) and any other regulatory governing bodies.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan
· BSN or enrollment in BSN program to be completed within 2-years
· A minimum of 3 years job-related experience
· A minimum of 2 years demonstrated leadership performance
· BLS Certification
Preferred:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related health care field
· ONC Certification
· CRRN
· A minimum of 2 years demonstrated leadership performance
