We are a fast-growing Manufacturing Company that is currently looking for a Band Saw Operator that can run a Hyd-Mech M20 and M16 with strong values and a passion for success to become a vital part of our dynamic team.
The Saw Machine Operator will set up and operate various types of saw machines to perform production machining operations where sequences, set-up methods, material and tooling are specified by process drawings, work orders and other documents for use in our customers industries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
- Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations and/or set up requirements.
- Measure, mark and otherwise indicate the dimensions and reference points on the part or material to be used as guides for subsequent machining.
- Select, align and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials; on machines to include but not limited to saw, chamfer and center drilling.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate various machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut.
- Start and monitor machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Adjust the machine controls or control media as necessary.
- Verify conformance of finished part to ensure that it meets specifications
- Comply with Company policy and procedures on Quality Assurance as well as Company Health and Safety Policy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and verbal English language (Safety, Quality & Operational instructions).
- Must be able to perform simple math problems (i.e. Add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar environment with similar equipment.
- Must have ability to comprehend blueprint drawings.
- Must have ability to safely operate a forklift, overhead crane, machine (jib) hoists, hand tools, power tools, and tape measure.
