We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welding Group Lead to join our team. As a Welding Group Lead, you will oversee and coordinate welding operations within our manufacturing facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that welding tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of welders and welding technicians, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
Plan and prioritize welding projects to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Inspect welds and ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Coordinate with other departments to schedule materials, equipment, and manpower needed for welding projects.
Troubleshoot issues with welding equipment and processes, and implement corrective actions.
Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked by team members.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize welding processes and efficiency.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in welding technology and techniques.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a welder with at least 2 years or more in a leadership or supervisory role.
Certification in welding (preferred.)
Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and materials.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
Proficiency in troubleshooting welding equipment and resolving technical issues.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in welding or related field preferred.
