The Senior Export Control Analyst in the Research Policy & Compliance office is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and administration of the campus export control compliance program. The Senior Export Control Analyst reports to the Director of Export Controls (Director) and plays a crucial role on the Export Control team in the oversight and monitoring of export control processes to facilitate compliance with federal laws and regulations, as well as with University of California policies and procedures. In coordination with the Director, the incumbent helps to provide education and guidance to the campus community on complying with export control regulations, including those administered by the Department of Commerce, the Department of State, and the Department of the Treasury. *Please upload cover letter and resume combined.

Qualifications

Internal/external audit, research administration, and/or compliance experience. (Preferred)
- General knowledge of business processes and shipping would be appreciated, but can be trained.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive, detailed analyses of complex regulations and to use good judgement in assessing situations and employing effective problem-solving techniques. (Required)

Develop independent recommendations for action related to complex and varying individual situations, including identifying the applicable regulations, exemptions and exclusions for a given situation. (Required)

Excellent written and oral skills to ensure the effective exchange of ideas with a wide audience, encompassing concise business correspondence and working documents including, but not limited to, procedures, guidelines, policies, training materials, memos and letters and the ability to proofread business correspondence with a high degree of accuracy. (Required)

Ability and demonstrated skill to design, develop, and deliver training. (Required)

Ability to work effectively with the Export Control team and with stakeholders to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships across the campus. (Required)

Bachelor's Degree Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience. (Required)
