Position Summary
Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical production equipment and systems. Works closely with production to change over equipment () for different containers and products. Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Performs equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. This position requires an aptitude and drive to grow his or her knowledge in technical skills, trade skills, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment as well as leadership skills. Must have a strong work ethic and be able to communicate with maintenance leadership and respond to operation supervisors. Must follow company policies and procedures with emphasis on safety.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Working knowledge of line equipment for setup, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Inspect, operate, and evaluate machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Change over equipment for different size containers and products-Liquid fillers, Label machines, cap machines date coders etc.
- Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts to conduct repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, such as inspecting motors, pneumatic pumps, centrifugal pumps, bearings, belts, fluid levels and replacing filters.
- Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory.
- Document all maintenance performed including preventative maintenance.
- Identify any required parts needed and notify supervisor.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Basic understanding of PLC and HMI.
- Ensure facility supervisors are notified when maintenance or repairs are to be undertaken.
- Remove all tools and debris from any maintenance activity once it has been completed.
- Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example.
- Other duties as assigned include working in tank farms wet conditions, elevated tanks, assisting with Building maintenance tasks as needed.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
- Prior working experience in a manufacturing facility is strongly preferred.
- Liquid Filling (label machines, filling machines cap & torque, Ink printers)
- High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.

- Able to read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, suppliers, and customers.
- Able to work on blueprints and sketches.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop and bend.
- Frequently required to use hand/finger dexterity.
- Continually required to talk, hear, and speak.
- Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information and/or use a keyboard/mouse.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Frequently work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, powered equipment, and electricity.
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Work in hot/cold environments.
