Restaurateur/Hotelier Michael Zislis is excited to announce his latest project - a reimagination of Downtown Manhattan Beach’s iconic Manhattan Beach Brewing Company! Opened as a working brew pub in 1991 and renamed Brewco in 2010, Brewco closed its doors on January 31st and will reopen with a reimagined interior and elevated kitchen.
What does Brewco serve? It serves rotisserie chicken, wood grilled meats and fish, fresh salads, sushi and incredible appetizers.
The new Brewco will keep its name, love for beer, and legendary hospitality. It will gain a new elegant look, upleveled coastal menu, eclectic wine list, and cutting edge cocktail program.

Our ideal candidate has management experience at an upscale full-service restaurant. We are looking for someone who "gets" hospitality and positive leadership, but also is very systematic and structured. They are a great delegator and leader that thrives in a collaborative culture. Our ideal manager is committed to creating an impeccable guest experience and will hold extremely high standards for their team. This position is for you if you have…
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Manager of a full service upscale restaurant.
- Restaurant opening experience in a Manager or Assistant Manager position strongly preferred.
- The ability to inspire team members to provide genuine hospitality and impeccable service. Your leadership style promotes mutual trust, respect and teamwork.
- Understanding of California labor laws, Health Department guidelines, COVID-19 safety protocols, etc
- Understanding of budgeting, inventory, and P&L’s.
- Knowledge of food, beer, wine, and spirits.
- Long tenure with previous employers (minimum 2 years at each job).
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- A flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, etc).
- The ability to perform under pressure.
- Enthusiasm about the brand!
- Manage daily operations of the restaurant to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Serve as the "Mayor of the Village," fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for both guests and staff.
- Lead by example, working alongside the team on the floor, attending to guests' needs, and providing exceptional service.
- Responsible for setting a tone of engagement, positivity, fun and focus for the entire Front of House staff.
- Lead the FOH team through hiring, coaching/counseling, training, showing appreciation, scheduling, and safety.
- Be actively involved in the P&L process (managing labor, controllable costs, etc)
- Collaborate interdepartmentally as needed to plan restaurant activities, share information, run special events, attend all manager meetings, etc
- Above all else, be the embodiment of gracious hospitality to employees and guests alike. Ensure that we retain top talent and that every guest leaves Brewco raving about their experience and excited to come back
