EVENING NURSE SUPERVISOR
4 pm - 12 am
West Rest Haven is seeking an Evening Nurse Supervisor to join our team. The Evening Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the Nursing Department. We are looking for an energetic Nurse who can follow directions and who is a team player. The Evening Nurse Supervisor is someone who will interact with our residents and assist in providing quality care to our residents.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of your job position is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the Nursing Services staff, and provide direct nursing care. If needed, to the residents, in accordance with current federal, state and local standards., guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services (DON) to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse or LVN that is licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners in the state of Texas.
- CPR certified
- Ability to understand, remember and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with residents and other team members
- Ability to complete assignments while having frequent interruptions
- Must be able to supervise staff
- Must have good computer skills and be able to use EMR
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Oversee the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services staff assigned to you, and ensure their performance is aligned in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term facility.
- Be part of the on call rotation
- Assist in ensuring nursing personnel staffing schedules are prepared and posted to insure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
- Ensure the staff complies with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Services Procedures Manual
- Ensure that staff performs the functions outlined in their respective job descriptions
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required
- Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident's total regimen of care is maintained
- Familiarize the department's policies and procedures so you will be able to explain, as needed, to the staff assigned to you, residents, resident's family and government agencies as required
- Use appropriate work place behavior and adhere to dress code at all times
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance in accordance with facility absence policies
- Must clear the criminal background check and be in good standing with the Texas Misconduct Registry
- Must not appear on the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
- Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university
EXPERIENCE
- At least one year of nursing experience in long-term care required. Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of computers, including Internet, keyboard and mouse navigation is required

WORKING DAYS:
- Rotating schedule, 4 days per week, every other weekend
