Job Purpose: Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Girl Scout program opportunities. Coordinate area programs including but not limiting to special events, series, interest groups, day camps, patch programs, youth advisory board and other council-wide program opportunities. Assist in the development, extension, maintenance, and retention of youth and adult membership that accomplishes council goals and objectives. Coordinate First Lego League robotics teams. Initiate new and innovative programming that concentrates on entrepreneurship, life skills, STEM, and outdoors.
Essential Functions

Ensures that all program events and activities are planned and implemented to comply with GSUSA and GSCTX policies and guidelines.

Works in coordination with Program Director to help develop curriculum to supplement the National Program Portfolio that can be used across all delivery pathways and meets the diverse needs of Girl Scouts council wide.

Facilitates and delivers positive Girl Scout experiences during council-wide programs.

Supports area specific Girl Advisory Board members.

Maintains a broad base of community contacts and positive community relations by cultivating collaborations to promote Girl Scouting in the community.

Collaborates with resource development team by providing data necessary to secure program funding and create funding reports.

Ensures events, projects, and trips are planned, budgeted, and implemented to comply with GSUSA and GSCTX policies, goals, objectives, and safety standards.

Works in coordination with Program Director to identify and work with community collaborators to set up event opportunities for individual Girl Scouts, troops, families, and service units that complement Girl Scout Journeys curriculum, help Girl Scouts earn badges, or provide Girl Scouts with leadership opportunities.

Ensures inclusiveness in membership and participation.

Promotes youth and adult member retention through quality programming and events.

Selects and oversees volunteer personnel needed for implementing council-sponsored program events.

Works in coordination with the Program Director to maintain younger
Girl Scout robotics teams throughout the council. -
Provides guidance, interpretation, and updates to staff and volunteers on program and safety materials, and their adaptation for local use as necessary and appropriate.

Delivers community program series at partner locations, bringing Girl Scouting into the community.

Collaborates closely with departmental management and other departments to inform membership and partner development strategies, plans and tactics.

Attends necessary training to carry out assigned duties including but not limited to CPR/First Aid certification, youth protection training, etc.

Supports positive Girl Scout experiences during the higher awards process.

Provides quality customer service that resolves concerns by offering creative solutions in a timely manner.

Engages in problem-solving skills, by clarifying desired information, researching, locating, and delivering findings and solutions.

Displays professional demeanor, and integrity at all times.

Maintains strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

Adheres to the policies of the Girl Scouts of Central Texas and promotes Girl Scouting in a positive manner to the public as well as to all internal and external customers.

Performs other duties or assists other projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
-
At least one year of experience working with youth.
-
Effective communication skills, both orally and written.
-
Proven record of customer responsiveness and active listening skills.
-
Knowledge of program planning and coordination.
-
Knowledge of statistical reporting, record keeping and scheduling.
-
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work independently under minimal supervision, as well as take initiative in making decisions.

Ability to effectively resolve a variety of problems and concerns within the scope of Council policies, practices, and procedures.

Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner.
-
High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook or similar productivity software.

Ability to make a commitment to the philosophy of Girl Scouting, both nationally and locally.

Ability to effectively interact, work, and collaborate with people of various cultural backgrounds and promote an environment of inclusivity.

Must have and maintain a valid TX driver’s license, a safe driving record, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation to travel within Girl Scouts of Central Texas region.

Yearly membership in GSUSA is required.

Satisfactory results from a criminal background check are required.
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent of one to three years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Minimum of one year of experience developing youth programming curriculum.
-
Previous experience working in the non-profit sector or for a membership driven organization.
-
Passion for and knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math.
-
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
-
Salesforce Experience.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Capable of sitting and performing office duties indoors and florescent light for extended periods of time.
Environmental Demands

Flexible work schedule including frequent evening and weekend work.

Some outdoor activities and exposure to weather.

Ability to travel by car within the council jurisdiction.

Frequent work under stress and under pressure of deadlines.
