As a Junior EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Analyst you will be responsible for managing and optimizing electronic data exchange processes within our organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring seamless communication between internal systems and external trading partners. Responsibilities
As an EDI Analyst, your key responsibilities include:
- EDI System Implementation and Maintenance:
- Set up communication protocols, data mapping, and error handling for efficient data exchange.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement and maintain EDI systems.
- Deliver data files on a regular cadence to business partners.
- Exporting Data from Salesforce and managing data within Salesforce.
- Workflow Management:
- Design and optimize data workflow processes within the organization.
- Ensure smooth data flow between different departments and business partners.
- Monitor and troubleshoot any issues related to data transmission.
- Data Mapping and Transformation:
- Translate business requirements into EDI specifications.
- Create and maintain data maps to facilitate accurate data translation between formats.
- Handle data transformation and validation rules.
- Evaluate error files and create automated transformations to increase data processing efficiency.
- Testing and Validation:
- Conduct thorough testing of EDI transactions to ensure compliance with standards.
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
- Collaborate with business users and partners during testing phases.
- Compliance and Security:
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Ensure data security and privacy during transmission.
- Address compliance-related issues promptly.
- Documentation and Training:
- Create and maintain documentation for EDI processes, including user manuals and guidelines.
- Train internal teams and external partners on EDI best practices.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement.
- Propose and implement improvements to streamline EDI workflows.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in EDI standards and practices with SFTP.
- Knowledge of data transformation tools and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Microsoft VBA).
- Experience with EDI translation software preferred (e.g., Jitterbit, Dataloader).
- Experience creating custom queries using tools such as SOQL, SQL, and Salesforce custom reporting.
- Analytical Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues.
- Attention to detail for accurate data mapping and validation.
- Communication Skills:
- Effective communication with IT teams, business users, and external partners.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability:
- EDI standards and technologies evolve, so staying current is essential.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Previous experience in EDI implementation, support, or related roles is advantageous.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This position will be a remote role and will be required to participate in regular technically induced meetings with leadership and staff. Employee is required to have a home office. Free of distractions and has a quiet environment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
The position may require some travel. Some travel is outside the local area and overnight.
