We are a growing marketing company seeking a PART-TIME Business Development Representative to find new business opportunities by contacting key, targeted businesses, universities, and government agencies and providing ongoing communications that lead to a meeting, which you will attend with the company owner to close the sale. We are a 21-year-old, Chicago-based firm that is a certified, woman-owned small business. Clients include Fortune 500 companies, SMB organizations, and government agencies plus universities. Our small team is remote, and a very welcoming, dynamic group of professionals. This is a part-time, remote position with some flexibility in schedule. Our firm provides full-service marketing including strategies and plans, plus production and implementation of creative tactics including: Paid, targeted, digital ad campaigns (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat), print, email, TV and Radio commercials, video, trade shows, market research, websites and landing pages etc. Our Director of Marketing serves on National Advisory Panels for both Facebook and LinkedIn corporate, which means we have ongoing training from industry leaders on the latest tactics - resulting in highly effective campaigns for our clients. We have great services and excellent results that you can share with prospects!
To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns, setting meetings, and hitting sales quotas, plus have excellent PowerPoint skills to create proposals for businesses. Experience and knowledge about marketing strategy and campaigns is extremely helpful. You’ll work with our Biz Dev Assistant to send out emails, develop LinkedIn outreach and implement strategies to connect and engage with key targets. We offer a base salary and commission (uncapped).
Ultimately, you will boost sales and contribute to our long-term business growth.
Responsibilities
- Through an in-depth discovery process, identify client needs, probe for pain points to qualify the lead, and then provide a general overview of products/services, set up a meeting with the company owner to present more details about specific services and close the sale.
- Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
- Contact potential clients and present general company information through LinkedIn outreach, warm and cold calls, and emails
- Recommend and advise company leadership on lead generation techniques, tactics and strategies to increase leads
- Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market; research market areas to learn about key companies, and key contacts at various organizations to reach out to
Requirements and skills
- Proven track record as a “hunter” in a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or similar role; Provide some stats on success rates, closed sales etc.;
- Natural consultative sales persona
- Demonstrable skills with outbound, Business to Business sales techniques (including event follow up, warm and cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach)
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
- Experience and comfort with CRM software and other technology such as LinkedIn, Email outreach platforms and PowerPoint to build proposals
- Understanding of sales performance metrics
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus Office 365 tools including and especially PowerPoint
- Ability and desire to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-starter, go-getter with an independent mindset
- Teachable, trainable and excited to learn
- Superior time-management skills. Experience with marketing and advertising is highly valued

Compensation –
o Base Pay on offer is $25,000 - $30,000/year based on experience, (part-time hours of 20/week)
o Commission Target of $15,000 - $20,000 annual based on sales of $250,000 incremental revenue, paid monthly
