Lead Accountant/Manager
A growing Certified Public Accounting firm specializing in small businesses and government entities is looking for a loyal and professional Tax Manager with three (3) to eight (5) years of Individual, Corporate, Partnership & Fiduciary Tax experience, who is excited about working at a highly stable, fast paced and growing firm, and who possesses outstanding technical and interpersonal skills.

We currently have a position available in our Houston office for candidates who hold a Texas CPA License, have Individual, Corporate & Trust Tax experience, are interested in managing a Tax Department and who want a career with an outstanding Christ-centered company.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
- Review individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns in an accurate and timely manner.
- Review clients’ payroll processing, W-2s, 940, 941 and TWC reports.
- Review bookkeeping and reconciliation work.
- Review proposed adjusting journal entries.
- Review proposed year-end closing entries.
- Perform research, analysis, and interpretation of current tax laws.
- Oversee compilations and reviews of business and individual financial statements.
- Provide detailed analysis, preparation and presentation of financial reports to clients including 1040, 1041, 1065,1120S & 1120 tax returns.
- Develop excellent relationships with clients and staff.
- Desire to manage and develop a team, as well as train and mentor less experienced staff.
- Collaborate with partners on developing vision for personal and company growth.
- Correspond in a timely manner with clients, attorneys, financial advisors, auditors and other consultants.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Licensed Texas CPA (Required)
- Individual, Corporate, Partnership & Fiduciary Tax Accounting Experience: 3 – 5 years with supervisory experience (entry level supervisory experience are welcome to apply)
- Strong Communication Skills: Oral & Written (Required)
- Tax Software Experience (Required)
- MS Office Experience (Required)
- Experience with Ultra Tax, Accounting CS and Practice CS (Strongly Preferred)
- QuickBooks (Strongly Preferred)
- Possesses strong background in tax compliance and planning for individuals, entities and fiduciaries.
- Experience in financial accounting sufficient to evaluate financial statements and confer with clients and staff regarding financial accounting matters.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Candidate must be highly analytical and able to multi task and complete projects in a timely manner.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work under pressure, particularly as deadlines approach.
- Individual must be technically proficient in the digital world.
- Demonstrated ability to consult and work with staff and as a team to determine business requirements, functional requirements and input/output requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work toward short timelines, consistently meet and work as required to resolve problems in order to meet deadlines, which may be impacted by unforeseen problems.
- Should demonstrate the ability to work in a calm and professional manner while involved in stressful situations.
- Must be able to develop and nurture strong relationships with clients and staff.

Salary: $90-110,000 per year
