JOB TITLE: CAD Supervisor
LOCATION: MARIETTA, GA
Artisan Custom Closets is a custom closet and storage solutions company with its flagship showroom and corporate offices in Marietta, Georgia. We design and install custom storage which includes walk-in closets, entertainment units, pantries, bookcases, garages and more. Our design team works within the client’s parameters using creative problem solving to add more space and function in the client’s space, our engineers draw and prepare the job, our custom manufacturing facility makes the pieces, and our installers finish the project!
Artisan Custom Closets seeks a full-time CAD Department Supervisor for its Marietta, GA onsite CAD Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises Department to assure jobs are engineered correctly, cost effectively, and received on time in accordance to design specification and quality requirements.
- Plans, schedules, and reviews the workload of the Department members to ensure optimum and on-time delivery targets are achieved
- Works closely with the Design staff to correct problems and further education.
- Maintains budgetary requirements within the Department.
- Develops processes and systems to ensure efficiency within the Department,
- Oversees all customer orders and scheduling requirements; works in conjunction with installation and production to satisfy customer requirements.
- Reviews and monitors progress in the Department against deadlines to ensure on-time delivery.
- Tracks and monitors late materials/jobs to minimize installation delays.
· Ensures that engineering processes run efficiently and effectively.
· Develops new processes and systems to streamline.
- Implements, monitors, and reviews training and development plans for the Department.
- Monitors and reviews personnel and maintains appropriate records in accordance with company procedures.
- Conducts and records annual performance appraisals for Department members (annually, as a minimum).
- Offers flexible and helpful customer service to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business,
· Partners with the Design staff to share knowledge and advice as to how to best design and engineer specific spaces.
· Writes up "rush" production orders including new jobs and services; transmits to the vendor for immediate processing and follows up on the delivery timeline.
· Provides orientation and on-the-job training for subordinates and ensures that the duties, authority and responsibility for each position are defined and understood.
· Assumes other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· A minimum of two years' experience in the custom closet industry is required.
· Knowledge of Closet Pro, Cabinet Vision and CAD design experience is required.
· Competency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
· High school diploma or GED is required.
· Previous management experience is preferred but not required.
· Must possess a working understanding of leadership principles and management best practices.
· Ability to meet, greet and talk with customers.
· Possess the ability to implement and manage change in the business.
· Must have a working understanding of the principles and tools of manufacturing.
