Summary:
The IRA Supervisor is a liaison for the inventory department to the other business partners at the site. This position must handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with frequent direct interaction with other department supervisors, managers, and senior management. The IRA Supervisor must be an excellent communicator, strategic thinker, and team player as they interact with other departments. The IRA Supervisor is responsible for monitoring inventory systems and working with business partners to resolve inventory concerns. This position is responsible for the planning and delegation of Inventory Control activities including inventory system research and analysis, cycle counting of materials, storage bin audits and corrective action for material count discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise IRA team on their assigned shift
- Provides motivation, participation and opportunities for employees to do their best.
- Monitor various system inventory reports for inventory discrepancies or process issues related to inventory.
- Communicate issues affecting inventory with team and business partners.
- Document corrective actions and communicate results with business partners.
- Schedule and coordinate execution of cycle count process to ensure all inventory is counted at regular intervals.
- Help identify inventory control gaps and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure team compliance with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures.
- Coach, lead and manage department as needed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for seasonal planning by considering staffing needs and working with business partners in developing continuous improvement programs and procedures.
- Responsible for developing training materials and procedures for department. Ensures all department procedures (SOP) are documented and utilized.
- Other duties/ projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Education - High School diploma required.
- Three to five years of leadership experience in a similar role or level of responsibility.
- Time management, organizational skills and the ability to influence and motivate a team
- Previous warehouse management system knowledge required and ERP systems experience preferred. (SAP and Oracle)
- Ability to analyze reports and draw conclusions/ recommendations
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications, including Excel required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- 1-2 years’ forklift and/or reach lift experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in all storage environments including cold and freezer temperatures.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and walk distances 200 yards or more.
- Must be willing to work extended hours due to business needs.
