Summary
NFL Media seeks a Seasonal Segment Producer to contribute to live & taped segments for NFL Network's Good Morning Football (GMFB) and an additional 2-hour syndicated/streaming version of the show. This role requires a hands-on producer that will work on all aspects of studio production, including editorial, show rundown & segment creation, segment development, line producing and post-production. The ideal candidate is creative, very knowledgeable about the NFL and must be comfortable working with on-air talent and in a control room setting.
Responsibilities
- The Segment Producer is responsible for producing a wide range of content for all 4 hours of GMFB; produces segments from start to finish for air
- Coordinates with on-air talent to write accurate and informative content as it relates to the segment; collaborates with talent on creative & editorial direction of segments; helps talent prepare for live segments
- Work with show producers to collaborate on & research ideas for daily shows
- Adjust segment content to accommodate breaking news situations
- Coordinates with Sales on show content opportunities and other sales executions
- Uses a high level of sports knowledge and news judgment to determine the agenda, concepts, and content of the assigned segment
- Supervises or takes part in individual segments
- Tape Produce with EVS Operator for live studio and event productions
- Produce interactive set content for live and live-to-tape productions
- Produce and write both news and feature copy under deadlines
- Choreograph all segments in detail
- Preview video and sound of assigned segments
- Work with editors to produce tape; oversee content being created for the shows by the APs and PAs
- Communicate daily story development with producer
- Be in control room during airing of assigned segment
- Pitch story ideas
- Take part in planning and development of next day stories
- Extensive knowledge & strong desire to master all live multi-platform production technologies, workflows and equipment in video and audio
Required Qualifications
- 4-6 years of related studio or production experience
- College degree preferred
- Experience in production related to sporting events
- Knowledge of live television production dynamics and working knowledge of the equipment and technologies in the control room
- Able to carry out a broad range of assignments that arrange from segment producing to live broadcasts with little or no preparation time in between
- Must have a passion for sports, and extensive knowledge of the NFL, associated events, and storylines
- Supervisory experience with good leadership skills
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good writing and copy-editing skills

Terms / Expected Hours of Work
- Seasonal – ability to work 40+ hours per week for 7 months
- Early morning call-time on show days; dayside & nightside shifts possible Sunday-Thursday or Monday-Friday; additional weekends & holidays as needed.
