Job Description: Database Analyst/Programmer
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Analyst/Programmer to join our team. The primary function of this role is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement these changes while applying knowledge of database management systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.
Key Responsibilities:
Test programs or databases, correct errors, and implement necessary modifications.
Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify database identifiers to the management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
Research existing mainframe programs, document findings, and enhance existing programs.
Write custom, one-time-use programs to perform data modifications.
Document changes for FSA/SOX compliance.

Education & Experience:
Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training required.
5-7 years of experience in database management.
Technical Requirements:
2+ years of experience with mainframe environments, preferably GIS Cluster C/A.
3+ years of COBOL development experience.
3+ years of SQL/DB2 programming on mainframes.
2+ years of IMS or CICS development (IMS preferred).
2+ years of experience with debugging tools like Xpeditor and Abend-Aid.
2+ years of experience working with end-customers on IT requirements and testing.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with FSA/SOX controls.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills in clear English.

Candidate Requirements:
At least an Associate's degree in a related field; a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred.
Candidates without a degree should have at least 8-10 years of hands-on experience in database management roles.
A Master's degree holder should have at least 4+ years of relevant experience.
