Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources, or a related field, plus a minimum of four years of relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree plus ten years of relevant work experience.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Officer, Compensation & Rewards supports development of strategies and programs including compensation, recognition and rewards, job architecture, and responsibility for field-based employees policies, both at HQ and in field offices.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1.Designs and reviews compensation, recognition, and rewards, including those for field-based employees. Prepares initial drafts of policy notes, Board papers, and associated communications to staff.
2.Conduct benchmarking analysis within the Fund’s comparator markets utilizing industry specific compensation surveys to update and maintain the Fund’s compensation program. Manages assigned consultants in conjunction with vendor contracting support.
3.Manages the Fund’s annual salary administration cycle, including the design of the merit matrix.
4.Reviews and interprets the Fund’s employment polices to ensure compensation and rewards programs align with defined competencies and levels, maintaining consistency and equity across departments. Supports SHRPs and departments in understanding the policies and its impact on pay decisions.
5.Supports the administration and improvement initiatives related to the Fund’s job architecture, including job families and functions, and job grade band alignment and job audits.
6.Acts as the subject matter expert in field-based employee policies for compensation and benefit subjects and provides insights in coordination with the Client Services team and Talent center of expertise.
7.Researches external trends related to compensation and rewards, synthesizing insights to recommend program concepts that will improve the Fund’s offerings and enhance market competitiveness.
8.Leverages broad total rewards knowledge to assist with Benefits and Pension activities as needed.
9.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Specialized Skills/ Knowledge
In-depth knowledge and expertise in the design and administration of base salary compensation systems, including benchmarking/market pricing techniques, salary structure and merit matrix design.
Experience with the design of the broader compensation and total rewards suite, including variable pay and benefits.
Displays specific technology, business process, or platform knowledge specifically related to Workday and PeopleSoft.
Working independently, applies analytical skills to identify issues or problems.
Focuses on operational excellence by offering suggestions for improvement, potentially resulting in changes to procedures and policy.
Demonstrates ability to build knowledge outside of the total rewards division, as applicable, and a broadened perspective of department and Fund.
Understands new and more complex policies and applies and implements them.
Able to apply a broad theoretical understanding of, and practical experiences in more than one HR area, e.g., staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits.
Researches and analyzes HR technical issues and problems and develops solutions in a thorough, systematic manner. Leads the formulation of policy proposals and recommendations.
This vacancy shall be filled by a 3-year Term appointment in accordance with the Fund’s new employment rules that took effect on May 1, 2015.
