Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Endoscopy department. As a Registered Nurse - Endoscopy, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care during endoscopic procedures. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform admission, endoscopy, or recovery nursing duties as assigned.
- Explain procedures and provide emotional support to patients to ensure their cooperation, and to alleviate their apprehension.
- Administer medication in accordance with protocol.
- Provide support and assistance to physicians and technicians during procedures.
- Maintain awareness of comfort levels and safety needs of patients.
- Use monitoring devices and/or direct observation to determine any significant changes in patients' condition, and notify attending physician of same.
- Alert physicians to any emergent condition or deviation from required procedural preparation that could lead to some adverse reaction, following up with ASC Nurse Supervisor and/or Director of Clinical Operations when appropriate.
- Know location of and how to safely use emergency equipment.
- Participate in unit quality improvement activities, education, and/or experiences.
- Special assignments or projects as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- BS in Nursing from an accredited institution required, some graduate study preferred; and
- At least three years’ experience in medical/surgical setting required; endoscopy experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must have and maintain:
- Maine Registered Nursing license required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- CGRN certification encouraged
