Responsibilities:
Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments to inform the development of individualized Behavior Intervention Plans
Attend Safety-Care Crisis intervention training and maintain certification
Assist in training school staff in Safety Care
Lead the SCIA (Special Circumstance Instructional Assistant) assessment process
Attend IEP meetings for students to whom Behavior Consultation or Intervention Services are provided
Oversee and supervise the Behavior Specialist in accordance with the behavior caseload
Conduct evaluations for purposes of identification or reevaluation of special education services in conjunction with other evaluations
Develop materials, provide resources and provide training to administrators, educators and paraprofessionals in Applied Behavior Analysis related to addressing student needs
Train, coach and supervise support staff working with students exhibiting behavior challenges
Maintain and analyze data and prepare reports for the purposes of documenting case history, assessments and treatments
Assist in the development and implementation of behavior analytic programming and interventions to increase appropriate student behavior and academic skills
Supports the behavioral programs related to students with special needs
Develops, coaches, and trains staff on individual positive behavior intervention plans for identified students in collaboration with classroom teacher using multiple data sources
Models, coaches, and observes implementation of positive classroom management techniques in the classroom
Systematically checks in with teachers and staff to ensure behavior plans are implemented with fidelity
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in applied behavioral sciences, psychology, education, speech therapy or other related fields
Demonstrated minimum of two years’ experience working with students using Evidence Based Practices, implementing Behavior Support Plans with increased responsibilities in a leadership role, providing and/or supervising educational programs and behavior plans for students with behavioral needs
Training in utilizing ABA principles in non-clinical settings
Bilingual
BCBA Certification and maintenance of certification
Safety Care Trainer, or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment
CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment and subsequent renewals
