Job Summary
Raleigh CPA firm is seeking a full-time staff accountant to join our team. Ideal candidate would be a self-motivated, hardworking, detail-oriented professional with a MINIMUM OF 2-5 years of current public and tax accounting experience. Responsibilities and Duties
Primary responsibilities include:
- Prepare year-end tax returns for Individuals, Corporations & Partnerships. Knowledge of Estates, Trusts & Non-Profit Entities a plus.
- Analyze client prepared data and make necessary adjustments required for tax reporting purposes
- Prepare year end documents and financial statements for business clients
- Prepare financial audits through the completion of the engagement
- Perform tax research on various issues as they arise
- Response correspondence with the IRS and various state and local taxing agencies
- Participation in audit and review engagements and maintain communication with partners related to engagement activities
- Maintain excellent communication with clients to ensure expectations and deadlines are being met
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Certified Public Accountant certification or pursuing CPA certification
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax law
- Strong understanding of GAAP and GAAS principles
- Ability to apply general and specific tax knowledge for all type of entities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong decision making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to meet time constraints and deadlines
- Experience with Microsoft Office, GoSystem RS Tax Software (or similar product), File Cabinet CS and QuickBooks
Compensation for this position is negotiable will be based on experience and ability.
