We are a premium preschool for children ages 12 weeks to 6 years and located in the heart of Beverly, MA. We are seeking a hands-on classroom leader experienced with caring and teaching in the infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms and creating a high-quality classroom culture.
Qualifications:
EEC Certified Infant/Toddler or Preschool Teacher, a Four-year degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or related field with at least one year of full-time teaching experience with a group of children.
Must show good leadership skills and relate well to children and adults, including parents, staff members, and visitors. Must accept differences in style and personality among teachers and children. Must have the ability to supervise one or more assistant teachers. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Must have the ability to internalize and act upon suggestions and requirements imposed by Management Team. Must have the ability to read, write and speak English. Fluency in other languages is a plus.
Responsible for planning and implementing the daily routines of the infant/toddler room, for engaging infants/toddlers in developmental activities, supervising the assistants, and ensuring the safety of the infants/toddlers by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Greets children and parents/guardians in a professional and enthusiastic manner each day.
Maintains a happy, sanitary and relaxed atmosphere in the toddler room by following daily procedures and routines.
Prepares, executes and discusses infant/toddler feeding routines with parents/guardians to meet individual needs. Instruct assistants in this responsibility.
Plans individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills such as learning to listen to instructions, playing with others, and using play equipment.
Works with lead teacher to provide lesson plans on a weekly / monthly basis to be approved by the director.
Work closely with assistant teachers in a team teaching atmosphere and shares pertinent information, suggestions, and ideas on a regular basis.
Interacts with children through instructional methods to include play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, computer, and physical activities.
Teaches children appropriate toddler curriculum including but not limited to the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, hand washing and potty training.
Develops and maintains a positive and confidential relationship with the parents of every child, including thorough communication about the program and each child’s progress
Changes infant's/toddler’s diapers or clothes as needed, adhering to appropriate diapering procedures at all times to include assuring the cleanliness of work areas and proper disposal of diapers.
Prepare and execute nap time routine to include creating a relaxing environment for the infants/toddlers.
Maintains written documentation of each child's daily activities to include but not limited to diapering, feeding and sleeping habits, and forwards reports to parents/guardians.
