Logistics & Production Planning Manager (Bakery Production)

TARTINE Story:
Elisabeth Prueitt and Chad Robertson opened Tartine Bakery in 2002 in San Francisco’s Mission District. The two met while attending the Culinary Institute of America and together developed their love of baking. Over 20 years later they continue to make their coveted morning buns and country loaves - and also continue to push the boundaries around sustainability, ingredient sourcing, and improving the artisanal process through innovation. Together they have published 5 award-winning books.

Responsibilities
Primary
o Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Tartine
o Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the culture, values, and mission of Tartine
o Contribute to creating a culture and work environment based on respect; providing opportunities for staff to learn, grow, and develop their abilities
o Inputting and compiling wholesale orders in conjunction with internal store orders Maintaining detailed PAR sheets for production teams.
O Maintaining cadence for timelines and cutoffs for production. Knowledge of strict deadlines and adhering to schedules.
O Communicating in a timely fashion with stores and wholesale accounts in case of any PAR deficiencies and able to find creative solutions
o Managing and overseeing bread slicing & packaging team. Ability to give clear direction of bread distribution and logistics
O Ability to work closely with delivery drivers and thorough understanding of van routes within the LA region. Keep up to date with all route changes and pricing structure of deliveries.
o Interfacing with wholesale customers. Strong interpersonal skills and maintaining relationships.
o Communicate with production teams weekly PARs with any changes or new developments in a timely manner
o Maintaining invoices and billing for internal and external stores
O Microsoft and Google suite proficiency
o Minimum one year of logistics and management experience
O Preferred at least one year of food production experience
o Basic production planning within a food environment
o Baking experience a plus

***Responsibilities include but are not limited to, performing and coordinating a variety of duties and tasks for the commissary facility.
Minimum Qualifications
- Be 21 years of age or older
- At least 6 months in a kitchen management position.
- Must have a high school diploma, formal culinary education is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and have a basic understanding of Spanish.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 40 pounds
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time ( minimum of 12 hours a day)
- Effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player.
- Must be well groomed, maintain good hygiene, and good posture, and have required uniform and tools.
- Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by Tartine.
- Must have the stamina to work at least 60 hours per week.
- Possess excellent basic math skills and can operate computer software programs including spreadsheet applications.
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to command the attention and direction of the production & stewarding staff.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
