Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Front Desk Receptionist to join our medical office team primarily working with those in recovery from substance use disorder. As the first and last point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth experience for our patients. A positive and patient disposition is required. We expect the person fulfilling this role to operate under the golden rule while treating our patients with the utmost respect, compassion, and dignity.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00
Half hour lunch break
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service checking in patients, receiving payments, and assisting in daily operations of the clinic
- Maintain friendly and professional attitude towards patients
- Provide an exceptional experience by guiding new patients through their intake process
- Schedule and confirm new and follow-up appointments for multiple providers
- Follow up on no-show and cancelled patient appointments
- Maintain daily logs for clinic
- Assists in resolving patient concerns by being proactive and resourceful
- Greet patients and visitors with a welcoming and helpful demeanor
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members
- Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk, lobby and common areas
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks as needed, such as electronic filing, faxing, scanning documents, and keep track of needed office supplies
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Medical practice and insurance verification experience required
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or working with substance use disorder patients in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as Athena a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal, nonverbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills, includes ability to provide compassionate and helpful solutions delivered with a genuine positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines
