Duties:
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Perform basic dental laboratory procedures, such as pouring models and fabricating retainers
- Assist with front office tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as aN orthodontic assistant is REQUIRED.
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including patient assessment, infection control, and aseptic technique
- Familiarity with dental software systems and other practice management software
- Proficiency in medical coding and understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
