We’re searching for a Landscape Operations Manager!
As the Operations Manager, you will develop and maintain long-term relationships and connect with key business executives and stakeholders at Fort Riley. You will strive to grow the company through sales and strong management of current projects and team members. You will provide direction, leadership, and motivation to ensure that the team achieves service, sales, safety, and operational goals. This position requires a strong commitment, dedication, and drive to achieve aggressive objectives and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure work is being performed in adherence to safety policies and procedures, always placing safety as the #1 priority and consistently enforcing the safety message with the team.
- Responsible for managing and adhering to all aspects of the prevention-based safety program and ensuring a zero injury culture
- Heavily focus on job and customer acquisition and retention.
- Direct all operational aspect including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, administration, and sales.
- Bring out the best of the branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation
- Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities
- Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly
- Adhere to high ethical standards and comply with all regulations/applicable laws
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company
- Maintain close cooperation with the President and Operations Manager to ensure efficient operation of the business achievement of operation targets
- Review all job estimates to ensure final numbers are accurate before bid submission
- Provide leadership and direction to the workforce to ensure project direction and focus is understood and act as key contact to troubleshoot and provide guidance as needed
- Responsible for the communication of staffing adjustments, equipment needs, contract awards, market developments, and all potential opportunities
- Work with CFO and President to set budget, operational, and sales goals for the branch
- Physically visit and evaluate job sites to ensure the right skills and competencies are being utilized to meet the customer and project needs
- Communicate regularly with other managers to obtain the necessary support required
- Provide timely support services to the project team and clients in addressing concerns
- Keep the President and/or Director of Operations informed of potential problems and concerns
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, or other relevant areas is preferred
- Strong communication skills • Highly motivated/excellent work ethic required
- Proven management or other relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
- Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time while paying strict attention to detail
- Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
- Basic understanding of plant disorders, potential mechanical difficulties, and/or other knowledge particular to area of specific projects
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Knowledge of proper general estimating procedures
- Working knowledge of Microsoft systems
- Ability to effectively communicate, prepare clear and concise reports, and to make presentations
- Strong understanding of financial and management applications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
