Provide a high level of courtesy and customer service and commitment to safety at all times
Most of each shift will be spent standing and/or walking
Must be willing to work some school sporting events
Reception and access control duties, such as (but not limited to) greeting visitors, students, and staff, checking identification, providing assistance
Operate metal detectors to screen entrants
Act as First Responder, if needed
Other duties as assigned
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:
Security and/or Public Safety experience is required for this position
Experience with metal detectors preferred
Military and/or Law Enforcement and/or Corrections Officer and/or School Resource Officer experience preferred
Experience with CCTV and access control systems
Must be comfortable working and interacting in a school environment around students, parents, faculty, and visitors.
Must be willing to work some sporting events
Candidates who do not meet these (or equivalent) requirements will be considered for other positions, which may have different pay rates
GENERAL SECURITY POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Neat and well-groomed appearance
Excellent customer service skills (e.g. courtesy, patience, understanding, etc.)
Good computer skills, including the following: able to use a keyboard to correctly input information accurately and efficiently into software programs; able to navigate various software applications and the internet/intranet; able to write and send emails; able to restart/reboot computers and printers; possess a reasonable general working knowledge of computers
Able to effectively speak and write the English language
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the proper use of grammar, punctuation and spelling
Willing to work overtime when asked or directed
Must embody vigilance, diligence, and integrity
