Overview:
Is responsible for working within the vision, goals and expectations laid out before them to develop and grow efficient processes and procedures within Compco Industries. Will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor and the Operations Manager to be sure that Compco Industries will continue serving our customers in the fashion we speak of, the customer is the “BOSS”.
Essential Functions and Requirements:
General
- Must follow all company procedures, policies and rules to maintain a “Safe Work Environment”.
- Must be able to arrive early to work, open the shop for production personal and work flexible hours when necessary.
- Must be able to work in a safe and timely manner, with or without supervision.
- Must have their own personal tools that would be required to complete his assigned task.
- Must maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Must be able to concentrate on the task at hand, considering any dangers to oneself and others around him.
- Must be able to deal with any interruptions that need attention immediately.
- Must be able to maintain complete and accurate maintenance and time records for worked preformed.
Electrical
- Must follow all NEC Codes (National Electric Code) and NEPA 79 Codes (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery).
- Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Must be able to interpret electrical drawings well enough to make changes on systems for required upgrades.
- Must insure that any and all changes to an electrical system will work upon completion without causing injury or machine failure, no matter how miner the change was.
- Must be able to troubleshoot all electrical aspects of production and support equipment.
- Must be able to correct unsafe or needed repair when discovered even if it was not assigned by their supervisor.
- Must have extensive knowledge with electrical controls.
- Must be able to design and/or make additions to current control system.
- Must be able to determine all required components and devices for new or current controls.
- Must be able to make electrical changes quickly to get the equipment up and running as soon as possible.
- Must be able to write basic new or change existing PLC programs within reason.
- Must be able to advice supervision what spare parts and components need to be stocked for replacement parts.
- Must be able to properly bend thin wall and heavy wall conduit with hand benders, making sure it is properly installed and anchored according to code.
- Must understand proper wire sizing, short circuit ratings, amperage ratings and de-rating factors for conduit fills.
- Must be able to determine route, wiring and materials needed for wire runs.
- Must be able to label and document all wiring and devices.
- Must prove out and train personal on how controls function.
- Must be able to properly install OSHA and ANSI approved safety devices such as relays, switches etc.
- Must have basic understanding and ability to install and program Variable Speed Drives and related components.
Mechanical
- Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings well enough to make changes on systems for required upgrades.
Hydraulics and Pneumatics
- Any Hydraulic and Pneumatic knowledge is a plus
Fabrication and Welding
- Any Fabrication and welding experience is a plus.
- Additional Items Requested
- A background in electronics
- Ability to troubleshoot circuit boards and electrical components
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings on CNC electrical systems
- Ability to repair and maintain CNC electrical systems.
