Ideal Candidate
We are a small team that designs and manufactures our own products from the ground up. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with both desk work (engineering calculations and design) and hands-on tasks (disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing robotic arms). A mechanical engineer with a focus on mechatronics, robotics, or automation would be a perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities
Support our machine shop, service, and assembly teams by:
- Troubleshooting, documenting, and repairing technical problems.
- Inspecting and evaluating tolerances of parts and assemblies.
- Updating and improving engineering drawings.
- Developing tools and fixtures for assembly, testing, and inspection.
- Improve production processes for quality and efficiency.
Contribute to product development by:
- Devising and implementing solutions to improve current products.
- Designing, prototyping, and testing electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for production, service, and regulatory compliance.
- Entering and maintaining engineering data in our ERP system.
Minimal travel (typically less than 1 week per year), including international travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s in mechanical engineering with a minor/focus on mechatronics/robotics, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Some experience with machine shop equipment (e.g., mills, lathes) and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is preferred.
- Comfortable working with mechanical and electrical assemblies, including assembly and disassembly.
- Programming experience in a high-level language (e.g., Python, Visual Basic) is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel; experience with other Microsoft Office products is a plus.
- Familiarity with electrical debugging tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes) is a plus.
- Experience with electrical assembly tools is a plus.
- ERP software experience is a plus.
