The purpose of this job is to provide administrative support to the judge during court proceedings. Prepares, updates, and ensures accuracy and completeness of court files and judge’s orders.

- Prepares and maintains court files and documents. Updates information management system as required.

Processes requests for records checks from individuals, government agencies, attorneys, and businesses.

Responds to incident reports, phone calls, and emails.

Prepares and balances deposits.

Schedules weddings, prepares marriage licenses and certificates, and files paperwork as required.

Accepts, prepares, and processes bonds and bond forfeitures.

Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No supervisory authority. Work may require providing guidance and training to others.

May assist in the collection of data in support of recommendations for departmental budget allocations. May monitor division or program/promotional level budget and expenditures.
Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
- High School diploma or equivalent; Technical or Associates degree preferred.

3 to 5 years’ experience in administrative support

Certified Court Administrator within four years of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
Knowledge of:

Basic business English usage, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Relevant laws and regulations pertaining to Supreme Court Rule 37, city ordinances, Missouri Sunshine Law, Missouri marriage requirements.

Legal terms and court documents.

Office software applications such as Microsoft Office, Show Me Courts, Just Ware, and Tyler.

General office practices and administrative procedures, records management, and administration techniques and procedures.

Basic arithmetic and computational operations.

Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.

Applying active listening and asking questions for understanding.

Collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex and/or technical data.

Creating and maintaining detailed and accurate records.
