Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team. As an Animal Control Officer, you will be responsible for capturing and caring for stray animals in the county, educating the public and enforcing animal control ordinances.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to calls and complaints regarding animal-related issues
- Educate the public about animal ownership and ordinances
- Investigate complaints relating to animals and issue citations, if necessary
- Conduct investigations of animal incidents
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required
- Administer medications, vaccinations and performs euthanasia
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in animal control, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to make decisions in high-pressure situations
- Familiarity with loss prevention strategies to prevent animal escapes or injuries
- Proficient in animal handling techniques, including the use of appropriate restraints
- Conflict management skills to handle difficult or emotional situations
- Ability to conduct criminal investigations related to animal abuse or neglect

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
