The Senior Manager of F&B Strategy and Performance plays a key role in providing Market Insights to the F&B Division. This role is part of the Performance Management & Analysis Team which is a divisional team missioned to support the efficiency and effectiveness of achieving our overarching objectives, through its strengths in Process Performance, Financial and Data Analysis, and cross divisional connection and consolidation.
Point of contact for US Chanel F&B with NPD, Circana relationship: Contracted tools, ad hoc requests, annual presentations, licenses, training and other support services
Compile and stay abreast of key economic indicators and relevant industry news
Develop and manage high-level reporting on competitive performance (NPD); help ensure that all available competitive data is accessible, streamlined, and easily leveraged across teams
Collaborate with Marketing on the analysis of Chanel and Competitor performance, supporting the publishing of key insights and takeaways from monthly reporting and tools, including Decision Key, Price and Promotion, and the Checkout Tool
Distribution analysis of the Market: Retailer Performance, Role of Retailer in the Market, Retailer Outlook, Key Competitor Distribution vs Chanel, DMA Performance
Collaborate with and support cross functional teams to identify measurable KPI’s for divisional priorities
Provide actionable distribution/market insights and strategy recommendations to business partners
Support the development of materials for key priority work and presentations (Budget Alignment, 3Yr Plan (MTP), Deauville and Country Review)
Execute ad hoc analysis supporting key strategic questions for the Division
Execute market projections through the use of NPD’s forecasting tool and internal retail plans
Support long-term strategic distribution related projects
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
This role provides all members of the F&B Division and beyond to have available F&B Market Insights at their fingertips. Your contributions will ensure that the most important insights in the market and by channel are being discussed and that the Division is asking itself the right questions, setting the right strategies, and making the right investments. You will be an internal consultant for the Division to deep dive into some of our biggest strategic questions.
The fragrance and beauty business, products, trends, the retail industry & the evolution of the F&B Market. You enjoy driving collaboration, following your curiosity, challenging and re-challenging your own hypotheses, story-telling; supporting the synthesis of lots of data points, facts, and figures into a synthesized message. You are comfortable in a high paced environment, needing focus and agility.
What you will bring to the team:
Minimum 7 years professional experience, analytic experience required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Advanced Excel and experience with data modeling and visualization
Advanced Powerpoint / Concise Storytelling
Demonstrated strength in communication and influencing skills; not only written and verbal, but also in the engagement of internal and external business partners
Open to new ideas and actively builds networks to achieve goals
Self-motivated, results-oriented, strategic thinker. Strong time management, prioritization skills, and ability to manage competing deadlines
Basic understanding of database organization and data structure (data architecture, pivot tables, etc)
Strong blend of analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to glean insights/patterns from large data sets; must be analytical but also creative with an ability to tell a story from the numbers
Strong passion and interest for the fragrance and beauty business including products, brands, products, retailers across makeup, skincare and fragrance
Strong demonstrated interest, comprehension, and passion for following business news as well as social media, classic media and influencer trends across makeup, skincare and fragrance
Prior experience with Circana/NPD, competitive Insights data sets and programs (greatly preferred)
Position Logistics:

Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the New York City office.
