SUMMARY
The Sr. Construction Estimator will perform assignments specific to construction project estimating duties necessary to support the Senior Level Estimators and help the company to pursue new work. This position will offer continuous mentoring and training by Senior Level Estimators and Project Managers with “Hands On” responsibility to grow professionally, learn the necessary know-how and understand the estimating/quotation process. The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position is designed to develop a valued technical expert, who, recognized and supported by management, can deliver quality work on a consistent basis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in preparing conventional bids to owner
- Assist preparing negotiated estimates to owners
- Assist in receiving and evaluating subcontractor and major material quotations prior to bid day and on bid day
- Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors
- Transmits addenda and other bid information to subcontractors
- Ensures that we have the proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day
- Working with estimating team to strategize final bids

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- May require lifting and carrying light loads, 10 or more pounds (e.g. boxes, small equipment, materials) and stooping or kneeling (e.g. filing documents in lower file drawers, picking up items from floor, or removing and replacing items on lower shelving)
- Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g. computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.)
- Activities include extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive work at a computer and phone

QUALIFICATIONS
- B.A. or B.S.in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture, or equivalent experience
