Position
Main responsibilities
- Provision of commercial advice and management of a range of procurement activity in the USA &
other regions with a long-term view of supporting a centralized procurement function.
- Develop, deliver and support creating Global & Regional Procurement Strategy across the USA &
other regions business to deliver the target benefits and financial savings
- Based on the strategy develop and agree an annual procurement plan for the USA and agree what
buying activity will be managed centrally and what will be managed locally.
- Develop a savings reporting mechanism with Group Procurement which produces regular reports
on performance and provide comprehensive management information and in-depth analysis when
requested including spend analysis, savings secured and potential savings for forecast and
budgets.
- Take a lead role in optimizing the use of procurement & financial systems with regard to all
purchasing activity.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance and service on leading procurement practice to all departments
in USA & other regions; lead in the identification, assessment and management of potential risks
associated with differing sourcing strategies
- Define and manage key supplier relationships both locally & regionally to deliver breakthrough
performance in cost, service and quality, including technical input to negotiations and negotiation
and management of third-party service provider.
- Development and management of Procurement Department / Team and structure.
- Develop and report on Beck & Pollitzer USA Procurement Strategy:
- Based on Category Strategy (including temp labor) Group Requirements
- Procurement good/best practice and standardization Support Beck & Pollitzer Growth plans
- Reporting of supplier and spend data to USA and Group business
- Overall responsibility of USA spend
- Add value to the USA business in the form of
- Value add savings – based on agreed mechanism.
- Cost avoidance & Efficiency Savings
- Supplier rationalization
- Manage Supplier Contracts for Indirect and Direct areas of spend – where required.
- Support Beck & Pollitzer Group Procurement activities by way of ongoing initiatives.
- Development and training of less experienced colleagues.
- Supporting Value add savings projects and supplier/category standardization projects.
Experience and qualifications required
- Specialist Procurement qualification (MCIPS or equivalent)
- Previous 2-5 years of experience in a similar procurement role within engineering services or the construction industry.
- 7-10 years of overall Procurement experience.
- Strong experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with major suppliers.
- Experience developing a procurement function, category management and supplier performance management strategies
- In depth understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative issues. • In depth knowledge of key procurement processes and procedures.
- Proven experience of meeting the procurement needs of internal customers.
- Experience in procurement contingent labour or resource management in professional services firm
