What You'll Love This Role:
- Lead & Innovate: Spearhead our business development efforts, overseeing the development of new business opportunities and growth initiatives, as well as identifying/capitalizing on potential new markets and managing complex capture projects throughout the entire Federal Acquisition lifecycle from inception to award.
- Cultivate Relationships: Identify, qualify, and secure business opportunities by cultivating and maintaining business relationships with current and potential customers to develop targeted sales strategies that convey a customized approach to all business pursuits.
- Strategize & Capture: Identify new market opportunities and lead capture projects from inception to award.
- Negotiate Deals: Craft and negotiate business deals that are beneficial and sustainable.
- Guide Teams: Mentor and motivate the Business Development team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Developing and implementing targeted sales strategies.
- Overseeing proposal development and ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
- Managing and expanding our market research and marketing efforts.
- Engaging with clients through presentations, meetings, and industry events.
- Staying ahead of industry trends and driving long-term planning strategies.
- Breaking down Request for Proposal (RFP) Statement of Work (SOW) requirements and evaluating those requirements against internal capabilities
- Building partnerships with other companies to bridge gaps in capabilities when necessary to facilitate go/no go decision making within the organization.
What You Will Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field preferred; in lieu of degree appropriate years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience: 5+ years in business development in a leadership role with a proven track record of “wins” within government contracting agencies. Familiarity with RFP/SOW requirements and assessing internal capabilities. Ability to secure and maintain a Government Secret Clearance is a plus.
- Skills: Self-motivated, relationship builder, able to work independently or as a team, ability to manage multiple projects and pivot quickly, meticulous with solid writing, technical, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and follow-through skills.
- Technical Skills: MS Office, SharePoint, CRM, familiarity with Seaport and SAM.gov
- Communication: Exceptional written/verbal, negotiation, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively interface with the Executive level. Confidentiality and company loyalty are necessary.
