An excellent opportunity exists for a Medical Assistant to join a busy multi-site ENT/Allergy clinic
Looking for a FULL TIME FLOAT MA for our Fredericksburg/Kerrville Office. This position will split time between both offices and will assist in the examination, treatment (including in office procedures) and the day to day care of patients. Additional responsibilities include answering phones, making appointments, insurance verification, front office duties, and electronic medical records.

KEY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to filing, faxing, copying, scheduling, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, front office skills (check-in/check-out), and making phone calls.
- Greet all patients as they arrive in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Intake patients by taking vital signs, medical history, medication reconciliation, etc.
- Demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of customer service principles.
- Assist physicians by preparing patients for an examination/treatment/procedure, etc.
- Administer specified medication (orally or by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection).
- Assemble and use such equipment such as PFT, PH probes, oxygen supplies, nebulizer supplies, and allergy injections
- Collect samples such as throat/nasal swab, blood and sputum for testing. Perform routine laboratory test on samples.
- Prepare exam rooms with necessary instruments.
- Perform equipment sterilization or follow sterilization process set by clinic.
- Demonstrate competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the age specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
- Appropriately adapts assigned assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served.
- Performs other duties as assigned, but not limited to maintaining a clean and presentable working environment for self, fellow workers and patients in all areas of the clinic.
- Contact patients to remind them to schedule pre-op and follow-up hospital appointments
- Adhere to HIPPA regulations
- Travel between clinics may be required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in Medical Office is preferred but not required
- High School Diploma, or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2-3 years office experience in a health care setting required
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
