Job description
Hirshmark Capital, a rapidly growing real estate investment firm, is seeking a Fund Controller for its real estate debt funds. Responsibilities include:
· Book general ledger activity and maintain fund and affiliated SPE books; record journal entries, prepare trial balances, identify and resolve discrepancies, and reconcile intercompany accounts
· Track invested assets to ensure compliance with fund and leverage requirements and guidelines
· Manage and track cash flow, including monitoring unfunded commitments and leverage availability
· Day to day cash management including wire management and processing of invoices
· Calculate waterfalls, monitor cash flow requirements, and make distribution recommendations
· Manage investor capital calls and distributions, including communication with investors
· Supervise and communicate with fund administrator, providing all necessary documentation and explanations
· Review quarterly NAV calculations
· Preliminary review of quarterly and annual financial statements
· Manage and coordinate audit and CPA review processes
· Manage tax accountant in preparation of tax returns and K-1s
· Ensure all financial compliance requirements are met and reported in a timely fashion
· Respond to investor forecasting and accounting questions
· Document and develop financial policies and procedures as necessary
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
· Minimum 4 years of accounting experience (fund experience strongly preferred)
Compensation
$150,000 to $170,000 annually depending on experience.
