COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary: This position provides leadership to the Pequot Lakes Chamber of Commerce, managing its operations and ensuring outstanding member, visitor and community experiences.
Qualifications: The Director should be a positive relationship-builder with strong organizational, marketing and event planning skills. Must demonstrate enthusiasm for promoting the area, connecting with people, inspiring and managing volunteers, and growing the Chamber through memberships and sponsorships. Gets involved in other community and government organizations as a key partner, representing the business community. Microsoft Office (or similar software) proficiency required. Must have a valid driver’s license and be available to work occasional evenings and weekends, including July 4th every year.
Status: Full-time, salaried. Hours vary based on events and meetings.
Reports to: President, with direction from Pequot Lakes Advisory Board
Direct reports: Events & Marketing Coordinator, volunteers
1. Chamber Management (40%)
Serves as lead Pequot Lakes Chamber staff, working closely with an Advisory Board. Contributes to area economic development as a recognizable business advocate and representative. Takes an active role in community organizations, initiatives and local government. Ensures financial sustainability and manages an annual budget. Represents the area regionally and statewide.
2. Event Planning (30%)
Works with volunteers to plan all aspects of annual community celebrations, most notably the Stars & Stripes and Bean Hole Days events each July, ensuring high quality standards while showcasing the area and maximizing revenue. Continuously develops new activities that connects and provides value to members. Ensures profitability.
3. Member Engagement (15%)
Builds trusted relationships with Pequot Lakes area members by making frequent contacts and visits. Maximizes volunteer engagement with meaningful committees and task forces. Works with Membership Director to grow membership.
4. Welcome Center (10%)
Provides outstanding visitor experiences through management of the Pequot Lakes Welcome Center. Recruits and manages volunteers. Ensures availability of area information while showcasing member businesses.
5. Other duties (5%)
Assists with other Chamber activities as needed, and performs other duties as assigned.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
